I chose Porter Leath because this is a local organization that focuses on providing services to lower income families. This organization is also involved with the community by have 5K races and toys and coat drives for children/families who can not afford them,

3. Metropolitan Action Commission-State
The Metropolitan Action Commission changes people’s lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities and makes Nashville a better place to live. We care about the entire community and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other.
|Head Start Teacher II is located with the Metropolitan Action Commision and is responsible for integrating the educational aspects of the Head Start daily program to help children learn and develop social, intellectual, physical, and emotional skills. Provide a positive learning environment for children.
Work hours (7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Applications will be accepted by MAC until an adequate pool of candidates is established.
I chose Metro Action Commission because they focus on the developmental advancement for early head start learners. Even if the child is not vocal there are still standards and expectations set for the child. (http://www.nashville.gov/Metro-Action-Commission/Early-Head-Start.aspx)
